If I heard this record without knowing anything about it I would assume it was recorded around 2003 by a band out of San Diego or Los Angeles and released on GSL. In actuality FFG are Houston natives cranking out the sexiest, sassiest tunes since The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower. Now that may not appeal to you because it's not cool to dance or have fun in general, but sit in your room alone and try not to bounce off the walls with overwhelming hip gyrating energy two minutes into this record. You're either dead or have got an FDR case of polio. Anyway, great great great record, a real hidden gem among all the other bullshit that was released toward the end of the decade. Jesus Lizard meets the VSS meets bluesy masochists.

If you don't already own this record you either just woke up from a coma, returned from exile on a small island off the coast of Africa, or have bad taste in music. We Are the Romans is the essential metallic hardcore template followed by every band since its release. Actually, this is such a great album that I can only think of maybe three or four other records that have been released in the genre that are as good or better. Everything else has been riff stealing, MTV 2 featured, mall friendly bullshit.

They’re tired of hearing the regular stuff, so they’re supportive of what I’m doing and challenging me to take it further. My environment is a direct influence. I wanted to tell the story of Los Angeles with music. It’s both a love letter and hate mail. Living in L.A. is a series of contradictions, and I wanted to get the good and the bad feelings in there. The point of the album is to take people on a ride and make it cinematic. I wanted this album to have a scope as big as the city." - Steven Ellison.
Technically these are two releases but they complement each other so well that I've always considered them part of the same tracklist. I'm a little biased here and prefer the EP. It feels a bit more cohesive, but that doesn't mean the album isn't impeccable. Filled with fuzzy, glitchy beats sometimes backed by soulful vocals. Gotta be some of the funkiest, sexiest music cranked out this decade.

With World Extermination I was trying to channel the same power I got from such records as From Enslavement, Teen Ass Revolt, Ulterior, Anticapitol, and Kings of Punk. If you aren't familiar with Insect Warfare, you're quite a bit late since they broke up last year. However, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the best grindcore album released this decade. Take a group of Texan elitist antisocial pricks waging war on false grind, add the production values of something that was recorded in two days in someone's living room, add layers of noise that even Merzbow would be jealous of, and add a hint of 80s nostalgia for the classics like Terrorizer and Repulsion. The result is the perfect soundtrack to go curb stomp girls who pierce their septums and wear Orchid shirts.

Seems like they're for sure playing Dancing The Manta Ray, Weird At My School, Bailey's Walk, Manta Ray, Into The White, and the UK Surf version of Wave of Mutilation.
