Alva Noto - Univrs

Download

The aural equivalent of telepresent brain hacking. Glitchy techno that requires headphones for a complete experience.

Robag Wruhme - Wuppdeckmischmampflow

Download

Robag teams up with Kompakt to deliver one of the best DJ mixes you've heard in a while: a great choice of old and new tracks seamlessly blended by those trademark minimal Robag beats.
These are my picks for 2011's electronic artists "least likely to do a Blackberry commercial or Tron soundtrack."

As promised, the second part of my I Am Spoonbender revival trilogy:

Sender/Receiver

Download

The most overlooked album of the 90s? Maybe a bit too bold of a claim but definitely the most overlooked album on GSL's roster! IAS was (is???) at its core Cup and Dustin with a rotating set of musicians making unclassifiable tunes in their mysterious studio above San Fran's legendary Aquarius Records. Featuring: drum and bass, heavy modular synthesizer foreplay, tape loops, field recordings, telepathic subliminal messages, Uri Geller references before you started reblogging every picture of Carl Sagan in front of a nebula, and the best fucking asymmetrical haircuts since A Flock of Seagulls. You've slept on this for long enough, now here's your chance to catch up.

Teletwin EP

Download

I've always thought of this as a b-sides collection to Sender/Receiver. Has an alternate version of "Stopwatch Static" that gives the original a run for its money, a reworking of Berlin's "Metro" and four lengthy instrumental jams.
Useless trivia of the day: the vinyl for this was pressed as a three "sided" record, meaning the second side has two grooves in it allowing for random play.

The only GSL band I still listen to

I Am Spoonbender - Shown Actual Size

Download

Been talking about posting this for years and now that I'm bent on posting the rest of Coil's discography it makes sense. Unfortunately, I don't have all of my IAS albums with me so this will have to suffice for now.
IAS was a San Francisco group, heavily influenced by Coil, Psychic TV, Throbbing Gristle, etc. They actually got me into all of that music. This EP is part of their later work, which became much more synth/vocal oriented.

Regis - In A Syrian Tongue

Download

Tomorrow on UCLAradio.com I'll be doing a Nettwerk/Antler records themed show, so a lot of synthy electronic body music and industrial to get you ready for Killing Spree's third year anniversary show. I'll also be playing some new stuff like this brooding electronic release on Blackest Ever Black. Listen live tomorrow from 6-8 PM PST.
