I'd rather listen to this noisefest than fall asleep to Tombs or Blouse or whatever else is on your top 2011 list.

Silicon Teens - Music For Parties
Download
"Today's artist is Silicon Teens, a fictional UK outfit spearheaded by the infamous Daniel Miller, head of independent wave label Mute Records. After two releases under The Normal (both the famous 'Warm Leatherette' 7'' and an experimental live recording with Robert Rental), Miller took to his synths to record a series of updated (and somewhat campy) 50s/60s rock n'roll tunes (alongside two originals), adopting a false 'teen' band to handle any budding press. Fad Gadget's Frank Tovey would act as lead vocalist during interviews as the remainder of the 'band' was portrayed by various actors, however, every note and vocal take was recorded by Miller himself.
Though one track from the Silicon Teens' lone release appeared on the soundtrack for Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, the 1980 record had little impact or chart success, and rumor claims that Mute would sign Depeche Mode soon after blowing the lid off the project in attempts to successfully market a true teen wave act."

The Normal - T.V.O.D. / Warm Leatherette
Download.
The Normal is Daniel Miller who is best known for being the founder of Mute Records. 1978 synth-pop that became very influential, especially the b-side "Warm Leatherette." Has been covered by a ton of people, most famously by Grace Jones who named a whole album after that song.

Le Shok Discography.
LE SHOK was a synth punk band from Long Beach, California, and probably the biggest influence on that whole "scenester" subculture of the early to mid 2000s. YOU KNOW THE ONE: white belts, girl pants, dyed black and razored haircuts swooping over one eye, etc. Not to mention they were basically ripped off by every band ever out of the Southern California area (Mika Miko, Abe Vigoda, No Age, etc.)
Funny thing is that they were just a bunch of drug addicted assholes that everyone's forgotten about. But I remember when everyone wished they'd been old enough to see Le Shok play at Zed Records or Vinyl Solution and shelled out hundreds of dollars for a single 7". I also credit this band with the rebirth of vinyl. BOLD STATEMENTS for sure, but are they really all that great? I don't really know. I'm really biased because it's what I grew up with but at least slam heroin and dance to it.

Shut up and listen.
The Screamers - Demos 1977-78
Download.
What's wrong with me that I haven't posted this before? The Screamers were a Los Angeles synth driven punk band. Sounds like a danceable nervous breakdown. They never officially released anything but they are fucking huge in terms of their influence in modern music. Specifically Le Shok-a band that everyone ripped off for the past nine years or so-who I would say singlehandedly made this band popular.

VMW Discography
Virgin Mega Whore was a side project involving Marc McCoy (Charles Bronson, Das Oath, Holy Molar) and some other guy nobody has ever heard of named Jeff Jellen.
They played whored out and coked up dance punk with lame synths, perfect for those days when you want to relive your 31G days. The Second EP is missing the first track; if anyone has it, I'd appreciate you sending it to me. All the tracks are in one zip file for your convenience.

The Distraction - More Trouble At The V
http://www.mediafire.com/?hmnnjmltkyn
The Distraction were a band out of LA that went through three major phases: the first two no one gave a shit about until the last one where Darryl and Hot Rod Todd both from Le Shok fame joined. Officially, this is the only release they did with that line up but they played a ton of shows, which I still have flyers for and, and they put out a DVD that I sent payment for but the fucking dicks never sent me. Anyway, this sounds more like Le Shok than any of HRT's any other bands mostly because of the shitty keyboards. Awesome release, check it out, dance, go pay for an overpriced copy at your local record store but make sure it still has the 3-D glasses.

Le Shok - We Are Electrocution
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?aczn0dz4iko
This is the record that pretty much started it all way back in 2001, along with The Locust self-titled full length. 13 synth-punk dance tunes clocking in at something like maybe 11 minutes? Fuck Mika Miko, Abe Vigoda, No Age, all those bands that came and went at the Smell, the bands that thought it was cool to use French in their names, the assholes that wore white ties or all black and yellow and danced like idiots at all the Long Beach shows; all of them and pretty much everyone has ripped off this record of been influenced by it in one way or another. Fucking shame that despite all the notoriety and 7"s going for hundreds of dollars these guys are pretty much forgotten.
