Pivixki - Gravissima

Download

Finally found this record after months of scouring every crevice of the Internet. Australian duo with schizophrenic piano beats and super clean blast beats. They'll be playing with Mike Patton in San Francisco sometime in May. Check them out if you live in the area.

I've been on a death metal binge thanks to the recent posts over at Get Waste. Death metal is not my forte or something that I post often, so what better way to segue into it with a classic Earache compilation? Earache is a prestigious grind/death UK label responsible for bringing you releases by amazing acts such as Clutch, Oceano, and Adema!!! They also sponsor elite MMA fighters like Dan Hardy; check out the highlight reel finish to his last fight here (he's the guy in the red shorts, mohawk, and sick back tat). Please support this label and pick up their latest Slaughter of the Soul re-re-re-re-re-re-issue.

Pivixki - Pivixki

Download

I'm not going to bullshit you and tell you this is some amazing avant garde masterpiece. Most people who listen to this are immediately going to write it off as pretentious noodling, and then there will be people like me who think it's so over the top ridiculous that you can't help but love it.
Pivixki (don't ask me how it's pronounced) are an Australian duo who play piano fucking grindcore...More or less, anyway. Well, not really but it sounds cool, right?

Asterisk* - Dogma

Download.

I can't believe I forgot about this band...Asterisk* were a 3 piece out of Umeå, Sweden and one of my favorite 21st century grindcore bands. Dogma is a 41 song discography released on 31G before the band called it quits. If you're into anything that sounds like Discordance Axis, you'll like this.

Insect Warfare - World Extermination (May 12, 2007)

http://www.mediafire.com/?0mjyzxjvmzd

"Well, I was feeling my most alienated, depressed, and angry during the sessions that produced that LP. That discontent echoes throughout the record and that’s why it sounds the way it does. Every other record was written with idea of "hey, lets make 10 more songs for a split". With World Extermination I was trying to channel the same power I got from such records as From Enslavement, Teen Ass Revolt, Ulterior, Anticapitol, and Kings of Punk. I am very happy with how the record came out." - Beau Beasley.

If you aren't familiar with Insect Warfare, you're quite a bit late since they broke up last year. However, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the best grindcore album released this decade. Take a group of Texan elitist antisocial pricks waging war on false grind, add the production values of something that was recorded in two days in someone's living room, add layers of noise that even Merzbow would be jealous of, and add a hint of 80s nostalgia for the classics like Terrorizer and Repulsion. The result is the perfect soundtrack to go curb stomp girls who pierce their septums and wear Orchid shirts.

Discordance Axis - The Inalienable Dreamless

http://www.mediafire.com/?um5gknm4tnm

Very underrated grindcore classic, way ahead of its time. What I love about this record is how fucking BRUTAL it sounds: the shrieks, the shredding guitar, the over 9,000 BPM blast beats, and yet it's extremely technical and precise. Just goes to show that grindcore isn't senseless violence and overly obscene tough guy bullshit. If you like this, and you should, definitely check out Gridlink.

Rotten Sound - Murderworks

http://www.mediafire.com/?utjfzi5dgoe

Finnish grindcore. As the name and cover art suggest, very fast/brutal/heavy/sick all those words that are inadequate at capturing the essence of any great record.

Nasum - Human 2.0

http://www.mediafire.com/?53mo3j2qmq3

Swedish grindcore legends reinvented themselves with this man against technology Matrix inspired record. Sounds cheesy but it's pretty intense.

Classics never go out of style.

Lost all of my music so from now until however long it takes me I'll mostly focus on posting stuff I need to replace. Let's start with the classics:

Assück - Misery Index

http://www.mediafire.com/?cwydvdrlxmd

Anarchist grindcore with death metal and powerviolence influence.

Siege - Drop Dead

http://www.mediafire.com/?h4jyyt5uan5

Hardcore punk laying down the foundation for powerviolence and grindcore and the most random saxophone solo ever.

Spazz - La Revancha

http://www.mediafire.com/?tztgvbjngir

A powerviolence band that isn't political? Yep, sarcastic, witty, smart, sludgy breakdowns, and a slew of weird samples.
