Sounds like "Power..." era New Order on Zoloft.

Horrid Red - Silent Party

Sounds like driving down the Autobahn in the wrong direction with your headlights off after drinking too much cough syrup.

My picks for "2011 debutantes least likely to sign with Matador or Sub Pop in 2012."

DVA Damas & Le Face Split

Download

Disclaimer: I only uploaded the DVA Damas side because Le Face is horrible.
Female fronted post-punk with synthy undertones (think Tropic of Cancer with vocals). One of the better So Cal bands right now. Bonus track included called "Bad Manners" that is to my knowledge unreleased. Cop their debut 7" in the archive and look forward to their full length early next year.

Above the Ruins - Songs of the Wolf

Tony Wakeford's project after he left Death in June and before he started Sol Invictus. Very similar to Nada!-era DI6 though not as new wave.

Sorry for the long absence. Was really busy with school and took a much deserved short vacation after that. I'll try to up the post count before I head back to the salt mines next month.

Get obscure with these off-beat Dutch post-punkers.

Franz from the band Monozid sent me some stuff to check out, and you know I can't say "nien" to a German. Turns out they're pretty good! Post-punky, early Factory records feel to it.

Give them a listen:

Their discography is up for grabs here.

My friends are having a new radio show over at UCLA. They'll be playing tunes showcasing their favorite post-punk/new wave record labels from the 80s (Factory will be the first label featured, hence the Section 25 post) from 6-8 PM PST every Saturday evening. Tune in HERE.

Ice cold Dutch post-punk.

Blessure Grave - When I Die

Download

Nothing more fun than a limited cassette release titled WHEN I DIE. Sold at some show in NYC, was supposed to be released as an LP by Sacred Bones but we all know how sketchy Toby was/is.

"Tobias: you'll NEVER be Rozz, but you should pull a Rozz and hang yourself."

Cocteau Twins - Peppermint Pig

Download

"In early Decembers long since past, while the quaint Victorian village of Saratoga Springs slept quietly through a chilled and moonlit eve, legend suggests that a bit of magic was in the making.
The first dusting of winter's snow gathered in darkened downtown doorways and twirled by night's wind seemed to dance and whirl like sugarplum fairies. Behind the oaken doors of gingerbread-sized candy shops that dotted Saratoga, tireless old candy makers, bathed in amber glow of crackling hearth and bubbling candy pots, labored on into the night creating... and continuing a holiday tradition known to all as the "Peppermint Pig™"
