Flying Lotus - Los Angeles (June 10, 2008)
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?mytnyyyqy1g
"The main thing is being in L.A., around all types of creative folks who push me to do what I’m not doing. I’ll play something and they’ll tell me to play my weird shit instead. They’re tired of hearing the regular stuff, so they’re supportive of what I’m doing and challenging me to take it further. My environment is a direct influence. I wanted to tell the story of Los Angeles with music. It’s both a love letter and hate mail. Living in L.A. is a series of contradictions, and I wanted to get the good and the bad feelings in there. The point of the album is to take people on a ride and make it cinematic. I wanted this album to have a scope as big as the city." - Steven Ellison.
Technically these are two releases but they complement each other so well that I've always considered them part of the same tracklist. I'm a little biased here and prefer the EP. It feels a bit more cohesive, but that doesn't mean the album isn't impeccable. Filled with fuzzy, glitchy beats sometimes backed by soulful vocals. Gotta be some of the funkiest, sexiest music cranked out this decade.

Insect Warfare - World Extermination (May 12, 2007)
http://www.mediafire.com/?0mjyzxjvmzd
"Well, I was feeling my most alienated, depressed, and angry during the sessions that produced that LP. That discontent echoes throughout the record and that’s why it sounds the way it does. Every other record was written with idea of "hey, lets make 10 more songs for a split". With World Extermination I was trying to channel the same power I got from such records as From Enslavement, Teen Ass Revolt, Ulterior, Anticapitol, and Kings of Punk. I am very happy with how the record came out." - Beau Beasley.
If you aren't familiar with Insect Warfare, you're quite a bit late since they broke up last year. However, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the best grindcore album released this decade. Take a group of Texan elitist antisocial pricks waging war on false grind, add the production values of something that was recorded in two days in someone's living room, add layers of noise that even Merzbow would be jealous of, and add a hint of 80s nostalgia for the classics like Terrorizer and Repulsion. The result is the perfect soundtrack to go curb stomp girls who pierce their septums and wear Orchid shirts.

The Pixies - Complete 'B' Sides
http://www.mediafire.com/?fvxndnl2na5
The Pixies are kicking off the American leg of their Doolittle tour in a couple of hours. They will be playing Doolittle along with some of the b-sides recorded around the same time. Seems like they're for sure playing Dancing The Manta Ray, Weird At My School, Bailey's Walk, Manta Ray, Into The White, and the UK Surf version of Wave of Mutilation. If you aren't familiar with them now is your chance. The UK Surf version is exceptionally good, even better than the original.

The Pixies - Doolittle

In honor of The Pixies Doolittle reunion tour, of which I will be attending tomorrow, here is one of the best records ever made. You probably already have it, but if you're ignorant or have been in a coma since 1989 you're in for a great listening experience.

Because good minimal electronic doesn't necessarily have to be German.
